I'm thrilled to announce we will be supported by the wonderful Little George Sueref at our London gig at The Lexington on Monday 12th September. I have been a big fan of George for many years and I’m honoured to have him join the line up.
George is a distinctive Singer & Harmonica player from London. He has a unique, high, soulful voice with a “lonesome feeling deeply rooted in '50s/'60s downhome blues”.
Performing all over Europe, Scandinavia & America, George has also worked with many of the great Blues legends: Lazy Lester, Honey Boy Edwards, Homesick James, Big Jack Johnson, John Primer & The Rev. Charlie Jackson... too name but a few.
After a very successful album release with guest Lazy Lester in 2000, he also collaborated with various notable artists such as African music legend ‘Ali Farka Toure’, British Singer/songwriter ‘Nick Lowe’ & UK Pop sensation ‘Duffy’.
Little George writes many of his own songs, from soulful ballads like ‘Everyday About This Time’ to “rough & tumble hypnotic blues” songs like ‘Tell Your Mother' & 'Feel So Lonesome’. “...the sort of music found on Sun, Chess, Excello and obscure Chicago indie labels...” (Mojo magazine).
